Most Instagrammable Places in Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes is part of the Dodecanese islands of Greece and marks also the biggest island of this island group. It’s a perfect vibrant place with many sights to explore. If want to find out which ones are the most instagrammable places in Rhodes you are welcome to stay.
Rhodes full of ancient history and is worldwide known for the famous Colossus of Rhodes. The medieval old town of Rhodes also has been declared a World Heritage Site.
Although it’s listed as one of the most tourity places among Europe I had a hard time finding a guide with all the most photogenic spots in Rhodes.
During our 5 Days on the island, we combed through the most Instagrammable places in Rhodes you absolutely won’t want to miss! With this guide I’m sharing all my tips on where to go, when to go and how to get around in Rhodes.

Lindos Beach
The best way to explore Rhodes is to rent a car. There are very cheap options and if you travel as a couple you won’t need a big vehicle to cruise around Rhodes. So we went with the cheapest rental car agency and payed around 85€ for 5 days.
The white city of Lindos is the number one of the most instagrammable places in Rhodes. It has much to offer – from the view from above, to the beach and the acropolis – there is so much to explore.
I highly recommend to go to the beach FIRST. Lindos is very touristy. There are tour busses everywhere, but all of those guided tours will visit the acropolis first. So we came here around 9 a.m, went straight to the beach and there was absolutely noone around. We even had enough time to set up the tripod and got some beautiful couple pictures. Also we didn’t had to pay for sunlounger and umbrella since there was no cashier around. Ooopsie 😉
Acropolis of Lindos
After you took your pictures at the beach and jumped into the beautiful blue water it’s time to explore Lindos. While nearly all the other tourist are still exploring the acropolis you can easily discover the beautiful city center. It slightly gives some Santorini vibes with all those beautiful white houses and pink flowers.
It’s a steep walk to the Acropolis of Lindos, but it’s doable. I advise you to choose the donkey trail for hiking up there, since I found it easier to do. Also when traveling with kids this probably is going to be the better option.
The minute you arrive beautiful ancient ruins will come your way. And since all the guided tours are gone by now you’ll able to enjoy the place with only a few people around. Also the view from above is really spectacular!
Entrance fee for the Acropolis of Lindos : 12€/person
Anthony Quinn Bay
The next stop on the list for bringing you Instagram pictures to another level is the Anthony Quinn Bay – and yes it is named after the famous actor who came here for filming in 1961.
It is a very scenic bay with crystal clear water and a shallow sloping beach – perfect for a relaxing day combined with some snorkeling.
We came here in the afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful sunset while everyone else left for dinner. Again we had the whole place for ourselves and couldn’t have been happier.
Insider tip: There is a cute little bar (Kounna Beach & Resto Bar) above the bay where you can buy some snacks and drinks while spending a perfect day on the beach.
Monolithos Castle
The castle of Monolithos is a 3km drive from the village of Monolithos while the distance from the city of Rhodes is about 69.5km. As soon as you reach the address, you need to continue your adventure on foot, following the steep footpath leading to the castle which lies about 265m high on a hill.
It is a wonderful place for enjoying a beautiful sunset, but be prepared – its not an insider tip. Plenty of people are probably having the same idea. Monolithos Castle is still one of my favorite addresses in Rhodes. The view from above is just amazing and there are more than enough photo opportunities for everyone.
Traganou Beach, Afandou
You know you have found the best beach when it is full of locals and it was exactly that! Beautiful clear blue sea which is wavy in the morning and very calm in the afternoon. It is a rock beach – so bring your watershoes, otherwise the pebbles are hot and painful specially at noon. Traganou is a wonderful clean beach, but our Instagram worthy photospot is not visible right away.
After coming to the beach, head to the north shore and walk towards the big rock formation. You may come across a sign that say “military area” – just keep walking and you’ll found a beautiful cave and it definitely deserves a place in the list of the most Instagrammable places in Rhodes
Insider tip: There are toilet facilities and a nice tavern a at the beach. Sunloungers are 5€ each
Windmills of Mandraki Harbor
To be honest – Mandraki Harbor is a pleasant walk, but there isn’t really much to see except some nice boats and the windmills. So if you have a limited time I don’t recommand coming here just to take a picture for the gram.
My recommandation is to spend some time in the Old Town of Rhodes first and come here after. Another option is to book a tour – like a daytrip to the island of Symi and enjoy the windmills in the morning.
Seven Springs, Epta Piges
If you on your way to Lindos you should plan a short one hour stop at Epta Piges. Althought it’s advitised for the seven springs the man made waterfall is the real attraction in the area.
To acces the waterfall you need to go through a 180m long, pitch black, literally shoulder width tunnel, filled with ankle deep water. There is no turning back. So bring your watershoes and a flashlight.
Once out of the tunnel follow the stream left to the waterfall. You can walk down the steps and enjoy the view from the front.
Insider tip: If you are claustrophobic there is also a path which runs overground (next to the Tavern)
